Amsterdam, Netherlands

We already miss The Netherlands - wish we had more days to spend there. We did manage to visit the Rijksmuseum and stroll around much of central Amsterdam - great vibe, superb food and friendly people.

We were planning to reach Cherbourg by Friday but the weather forecast shifted radically and there is a class 3 Thunderstorm warning in and around northern France. Better stay safe in Boulogne-sur-mer, France and continue when the weather settles.

Hoorn, Netherlands

The old town of Hoorn (founded in 716 during the golden age of Holland) surprised us by being such a lively little town - probably a bit extra energised during these summer months with various events each day.

Loads and loads of sailing vessels at sea and tivoli and market preparations on land. Great restaurants, beautifully styled stores and long walks kept us busy most of the time and some of us even went for kayaking rides in the city channels.

Arriving in Makkum marina after the North Sea sail

After several days of nonstop movement, harsh weathers and long days it was so great to arrive in Makkum, Netherlands in 29 degrees celsius(84F).

The North Sea sail went smooth, started out very calm and the wind built up half way through. Everyone is a bit sleep deprived now so we will need some proper sleep tonight. We won't have to leave early tomorrow so we're planning to visit the beach and restock the fridge. Later in the day we will set sail to Hoorn, Netherlands.

A different point of view

We thought it would be fun to make a gallery consisting of various peoples pictures. Photograph locations range from Karlskrona to Simrishamn.

Finally got the Radar up and it is working properly!

We have now left Simrishamn and set sail to Ystad.
